Tours
For poultry farmers and advisers, it is possible to visit the experimental farm and view the ongoing research. Visitors to the farm are informed about the barn designs and the current research (with the interim results). For large groups of visitors, reception rooms are available in the barns from which it is possible to view one of the sections. For smaller groups, it is possible (while taking account of the necessary hygiene measures) to enter the barns .
For the possibilities and to make appointments, please contact Adriaan Vernooij.
For poultry farmers, these visits are free.
Lectures for study clubs
Many poultry farmers belong to a study club. During the meetings, a range of topics are discussed The researchers from Wageningen UR Livestock Research can contribute to these meetings by providing a lecture or presentation. The lectures frequently concern research results, but other topics also come up for discussion. Other than a reimbursement for travel expenses, the lectures are free for study clubs.
To make an appointment, please contact Adriaan Vernooij.
Sector afternoons
Wageningen UR Livestock Research conducts much research on behalf of the poultry sector. The results of the research are published in articles and reports. A presentation for poultry farmers with a discussion is also possible, which of course is also a good way to disseminate the results. We make such presentations during the sector afternoons. In principle, we hold one sector afternoon for each poultry sector every year. Besides the research results – presented by the researchers themselves – a current topic is also discussed, presented by an external speaker. All poultry farmers receive a personal invitation for the sector afternoons, but these events are also announced on the website of Wageningen UR Livestock Research/proefbedrijven. If the date is known, the sector afternoon will also be listed on the calendar.
If you would like to know more about the sector afternoons, please contact Hilko Ellen, phone +31 320 293 504.
