The staff of Wageningen UR Livestock Research have expertise and contacts in the areas of animal welfare, breeding, the health of animals and farms, animal nutrition, economics, housing, food quality and national and international policy developments. In addition, they are involved with aspects of the environment, sustainable energy, farm development and product quality in international chains. The research therefore focuses on integrated solutions for the livestock sector, with an eye to the sustainable inclusion of livestock farming in the environment. By combining knowledge, networks and process design in livestock systems, Wageningen UR Livestock Research has become a leading international expertise partner for the livestock sector and its environment.
Wageningen UR Livestock Research participates in existing frameworks for cooperation, not only within Wageningen UR with partners such as the Central Veterinary Institute (CVI), Alterra, Plant Research (Acrres), but also externally with partners such as the Animal Health Service (GD).
